About ZygaditeHide

Formula:
Na(AlSi3O8)
Name:
Named in 1843 by August Breithaupt from the Greek ζυγαδην = "in pairs" because the mineral is twinned. The crystals exhibit very acute rhombic cross-sections.
Zygadite variety of albite consists of an unusual crystallographic habit: tabular crystals with a steeply acute morphology.
