A synonym of '"Herkimer-style" Quartz'
Short-prismatic doubly terminated quartz crystals in sedimentary rocks.
Such quartz often contains hydrocarbon inclusions.

Named for an occurrence (near "Vereczke") in the 19th-century Marmarosch county in Hungary (nowadays Maramures Co., Romania, and Transcarpathian Oblast', Ukraine).

Also erroneously used for visually similar rock crystals from Vorarlberg, Austria.
