Named in 1937 by Charles Palache, Lawson Henry Bauer, and Harry Berman in honor of Pope Yeatman [August 3, 1861 Saint Louis, Missouri, USA - December 5, 1953 Springfield, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, USA], mining engineer for the New Jersey Zinc Company at Franklin, New Jersey, USA.
