Originally reported from Elias Mine, Jáchymov (St Joachimsthal), Ostrov, Krušné Hory Mts (Erzgebirge), Karlovy Vary Region, Bohemia (Böhmen; Boehmen), Czech Republic.

Note: Adolfpateraite is a different mineral named after the same person in 2011.
