Named for the Frigido Mine, Massa, Apuan Alps, Massa-Carrara Province, Tuscany, Italy.
A nickel-bearing variety of tetrahedrite.
Assuming the very old analysis was not that of a mixture, it might be a solid-solution member in the series towards tetrahedrite-(Ni).
The sample studied by Carrozzini et al. (1991) turned out to be a tetrahedrite-(Fe).
