A Mixture Of:
A soft black material found in altered dolerite (Hardman et al., 1883). Found by Lacroix (1885) to be a mixture of hydrous ferromagnesian silicates, largely isotropic. Described as a hydrous glass of low SG (Cole, 1896).
Probably a mixture of different clay minerals, perhaps mainly montmorillonite, and possibly hisingerite? Needs further study.
