Name:
For its structural relation to vinogradovite. First described by Khomyakov (1990,1995) as a potential new species, designated as M48, a vinogradovite-like mineral. It was first collected by him in 1986 and by Pavel M. Kartashov in 1988 from the central part of the Khibina alkaline massif, Kola, Russia. Described as a new mineral by Khomyakov et al. (2003).
Type Locality:
A secondary mineral formed from vinogradovite (Khomyakov et al. 2003).

General Appearance of Type Material:
Fan-shaped aggregates of slender to acicular prismatic crystals to 10 mm, pseudomorphing vinogradovite.
