It's a pair of soft and lovely minerals as Stichtite and Talc compete for your votes.
Originally found in Tasmania, Australia, Stichtite is a hydrated magnesium chromium carbonate that most often forms from hydrothermal alternation of chromium-rich serpentine. Chromium is responsible for stichtite’s distinctive lilac, lavender, and rose colours. The flexible, waxy mineral is extremely soft (Mohs 1.5-2). Its lack of durability and ease of scratching means any jewellery is restricted to protected cabochons with occasional wear.
Talc has the lowest possible Mohs hardness of 1, making it a reference mineral on the Mohs hardness scale. The soapstone variety of talc has been used since ancient times. Linguists believe that the term originally comes from the Persian language and was then adopted throughout the Indo-European language family via the Arabic word talq. Talcum powder is used in many powder-based cosmetic products including compact powder, bronzer, deodorant powder, blush, eyeliner pencils, and lip liners. It's also used as filler or soft lubricant in industry.
