Species:'Actinolite-Tremolite Series' (not an IMA approved species)
Comments:It is likely, from anecdotal evidence, that most of the material from this site will tend toward the Tremolite end of the series, although Actinolite has been reported.
Habit:Ranges from massive to frequently fine, soft, asbestiform masses lying transverse to the vein, also coarse, tough sheaves and bundles parallel to the vein.

Veins vary between sub-millimetre to 150mm or more.

Fibres sub-millimetre to (prossibly) in excess of 100mm.
Colour:White, pale green, olive green, blackish green

Display Requirements:
Fibrous specimens should be treated as extremely harmful, dust arising from this material is easily absorbed into the lungs and is known to cause progressive lung disease. Should be handled only when wet and should be stored in a sealed container.
