Comments:Veins of white to pale purplish-grey calcite penetrate most of the serpentinite, with veins ranging from sub-millimetre to several tens of millimetres.

Veins may be separated from the host rock by thin layers of other minerals as well as adjoining pockets of asbestiform, granular or earthy material.
Habit:Massive in veins, also columnar to finely columnar.

Irregular crystals: To approximately 8mm (length x width), anhedral.
Columnar material: Crystals to 2.5mm across and up to 50mm length, may be separated easily.
Colour:White, translucent.

Also, rarely, greyish or purplish, translucent.
Quality for species:Poor for species, only of interest for locality collectors. (#)
