Comments:I. D. questioned by A. Montgomery, Min PA 1922-69, pg. 4, Montgomery's findings contested by A.V. Heyl, (USGS study 1984, XRD. )

Published analysis, in Montgomery, "Mineralogy of Pennsylvania," 1922, gives Ca(Mg0.56Fe0.44)(CO3)2, suggesting the mineral is Fe-containing dolomite. Heyl's XRD not examined, could be from a legitimate ankerite, however.
