Kastningite at this locality occurs in the same paragenetic setting as mangangordonite in the blue tourmaline rims filled by siderite, quartz, and late phosphates. Kastningite is colorless to white, but commonly transparent with a steeply sloping termination. It is possible that kastningite may be associated with the much rarer mangangordonite.
