Pyrolusite has yet to be verified from a granite pegmatite. Black "manganese dendrites" have never been identified as "pyrolusite". See Potter, R. and Rossman, G, 1979, Mineralogy of Manganese Dendrites and Coatings, American Mineralogist, v. 64, p. 1219-1226. Most black coatings are hollandite group, nsutite, birnessite, etc.
