Ferri-ghoseite from
Varenche Mine, Saint-Barthélemy, Nus, Aosta Valley, Italy
| Locality type: | Mine | |
| Classification | ||
|---|---|---|
| Species: | Ferri-ghoseite | |
| Formula: | ◻(Mn2+Na)(Mg4Fe3+)Si8O22(OH)2 | |
| Comments: | Reported as Parvowinchite by Barresi et al. (2005), as an amphibole found in aggregates of flat lamellar crystals, from yellow to orange to yellow, to yellow-gray, arranged in parallel and included in quartz. However, Barresi et al. (2005) provide no chemical data of the mineral but refers to Bonazzi et al. (1996) as a reference. However, the latter reference only mentions "tirodite", which is discredited.
