I hiked this area and visually identified jasper. I also used hardness testing during identification. Jasper occurs in the Salmon River gravel bars and local gravel pits near silica-rich volcanic outcrops in and around Salmon, Lemhi Co., ID. This is consistent with the already approved chalcedony mineral listing for this locality.Identified by Bill Hamel: Visual Identification
