TCS Salesforce Interview Experience (On-Campus)

Round 1: Aptitude Test

The online assessment consisted of three sections:

  1. Verbal Ability
  2. Logical Reasoning
  3. Quantitative Aptitude

Note: There was no coding round in the assessment.

Round 2: Technical + Managerial Interview

The interview started with a brief introduction.

1. Introduction & Resume Discussion

  • Tell me about yourself.
  • Explain your projects.
  • Discuss your Amazon ML School experience.
  • Which AI tools have you used? How have they helped you?

2. Salesforce Query Language (SOQL & SOSL)

  • Difference between SOQL and SOSL.
  • What are Relationship Queries?
  • Explain Parent-to-Child and Child-to-Parent queries with syntax.
  • Write a Parent-to-Child query to retrieve Account records along with 5 related Opportunity records.
  • Write an SOSL query to retrieve records whose names start with a specific word.
  • Explain GROUP BY, LIMIT, and OFFSET clauses.

3. Apex Programming

  • What is Apex?
  • What are the features of Apex?
  • Explain Apex Classes.
  • Explain Collections: List, Set, Map
  • Difference between with sharing and without sharing.

4. Triggers

  • What is a Trigger?
  • When do we use Triggers?
  • Types of Triggers.
  • Trigger Events.
  • Before Trigger vs After Trigger.
  • Trigger Context Variables.
  • Write a Trigger to automatically create an Opportunity whenever an Account is created.
  • What is Bulkification?
  • What are Governor Limits?

5. Asynchronous Apex

  • Explain Asynchronous Apex.
  • Difference between Future Methods and Queueable Apex.
  • Explain Batch Apex.
  • Write the syntax of Batch Apex.
  • Methods in Batch Apex.
  • What is Schedulable Apex?
  • Explain Cron Expressions.

6. Flow

  • What is a Record-Triggered Flow?
  • What is a Screen Flow?

7. Salesforce Data Model

  • Standard Object vs Custom Object.
  • What are Objects and Fields?
  • Lookup Relationship vs Master-Detail Relationship.
  • What is a Roll-Up Summary Field?
  • What happens when a Parent record is deleted?

8. Salesforce Security

  • Difference between Roles and Profiles.

9. Programming & DSA

  • When are Stack and Queue used in real-life applications?
  • Write code to implement a Linked List.

10. AI & Salesforce

  • What is Agentforce?
  • Discussion on AI tools and their practical usage.

At the end of the interview, the interviewer suggested that I should learn Lightning Web Components (LWC) and Agentforce, as they are becoming increasingly important in the Salesforce ecosystem.

Round 3: HR Interview

The HR interview was straightforward and focused on general questions.

Questions asked:

  • Why do you want to join TCS?
  • Who is the founder of TCS?
  • Who is the CEO of TCS?
  • Are you willing to relocate?
  • What is your preferred location?
  • Have you attended interviews with any other companies?

Result: I was selected and received the TCS Digital Offer Letter. Overall, the interview process was smooth and focused on Salesforce fundamentals, Apex, SOQL/SOSL, Triggers, Flows, and a few DSA concepts. I recommend preparing your projects thoroughly and practising query writing and Apex coding.
