- Bachelorâs degree or Masterâs degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized University/Institute of National Importance.
- Minimum CPI of 6.0 on a 10-point scale (or 60% marks).
- Relaxation of 0.5 CPI (or 5% marks) for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

No fixed GATE cut-off is published. Admissions are processed as follows:
- Regular category seats in several M.Tech disciplines (Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Data Science, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical Science and Engineering) are offered through COAP 2026 (organized by IIT Roorkee).
