Spotlight

  • Many thanks to Rhode & Schwarz for loaning us their 3-in-1 oscilloscope/function generator/spectrum analyzer for our Concepts of Accelerator Science and Technology courses this summer. Students used the MX044's high-speed function generator to simulate realistic particle beam bunches and investigate the real-world response, signal distortion, and higher-order effects of a beam position monitor (BPM) and fast current transformer (toroid), measurements that would not have been possible with slower equipment.

  • We sincerely thank our friends at Nusano Inc. for generously loaning us a beam position monitor, which enabled our Fundamentals students to gain hands-on experience with professional beam diagnostics. Nusano's support provided an invaluable opportunity to explore realistic beam instrumentation and greatly enhanced the educational impact of this laboratory experience.
