No. Tufts’ high school summer Pre-College programs emphasize personalization and flexibility. While the Tufts College Experience is a six-week residential program, we also have commuter course options that don’t require you to live on campus. Choose the learning pathway that suits your needs, preferences, and goals.
We offer a variety of undergraduate classes and summer college prep courses for high school students. Whether you choose the Tufts College Experience, Courses at Tufts for High Schoolers, or an individual intensive, you’ll be able to curate a schedule that fits you.
Courses span a wide range of subject areas, from General Chemistry to Intermediate Chinese to Classical Mythology to Expository Writing. We will work with you to help you build your own course schedule according to your needs and goals.
Each Tufts summer Pre-College program offers a unique pathway for learning.
Tufts Dual Enrollment are singular course options that may count towards high school and college credit (please consult with your home institution to confirm courses count towards graduation requirements).
Our summer intensives are typically two weeks long and are also open to both residential and commuter students. The intensives have some for-credit options and other non-credit options.
All programs offer the same hands-on learning experiences you would have with the Tufts College Experience. These flexible options allow you to choose a learning pathway that works best for you.
No. Our intensives are typically not for credit, although some for-credit options are available. With the flexibility to choose either for-credit or not-for-credit courses, you can craft an educational experience that best suits you.
The Tufts University Pre-College Program offers an opportunity for high school students to find out what it’s like to be a college student and to explore learning opportunities in a supportive environment. Real Tufts faculty members teach each class, providing hands-on learning experiences and guiding students as they solve real-world problems.
Pre-College programs are tailored to your needs, with both short- and long-term learning experiences, as well as options for both residential and commuter students. Students can take courses for credit or take a more exploratory approach with the summer intensives.
