Cassandra Wilson (December 4, 1955 – September 2, 2026) was an American jazz singer-songwriter and producer. She was born in Jackson, Mississippi.[1] She was one of the most successful female jazz singers.[2] During her career, she won two Grammy Awards.[3] She was named "America's Best Singer" by Time magazine in 2001.[4]
Wilson died at her home in Jackson on September 2, 2026 at the age of 70.[5]
