If you see a bear, do not approach or follow the bear, and not attempt to feed or interact with it. Anyone who sees the bear should move away and contact CSUPD at 970-491-6425. Anyone facing immediate danger should call or text 911.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife has noted higher numbers of bear sightings this season due to ongoing drought conditions and a lack of natural food sources like berries forcing bears into urban areas in search for calories before hibernation.
If located, CSU Police Department will coordinate with wildlife officials to establish appropriate safety measures to protect the campus community and allow the animal to be managed safely.
