平穏無事という奇跡を
知る方法は二つ
身をもって知るか
他者に学ぶか

とはいえ喉元過ぎれば
何とやら
だれも自分の頬を
しっかりつねらない

だから詩を
書いているのです
回覧板の片隅を
お借りして

あなたにも届くことを
ただ祈りながら

Poem: The Circulating Notice

There are two ways
to know the miracle
of an uneventful, peaceful life:
to learn it through one’s own experience,
or to learn it from others.

And yet, once the danger has passed,
we forget all too easily—
no one truly pinches their own cheek
to make sure it is real.

That is why
I write poems,
borrowing a small corner
of the circulating notice.

Simply hoping
that it will reach you, too.
