#108 "Christmas Hallelujah" ～クリスマスの意味がここに凝縮されています～

多くのアーティスト達からカバーされているHallelujah (ハレルヤ)。

私もイースターに一度記事をあげましたが、こちらは歌詞が以前と違う、クリスマスのお話になっています。

同じ歌やん、と言う前に、このムービーと一緒に聴いていただきたいのです。

特にカトリックの幼稚園に馴染みのある方なら、Nativity (降誕劇) はよくご存じだと思います。この音楽とともに、より深く感じ入ることができると思います。

キリスト教や聖書に馴染みのない方にはなおさらお勧めします。

ムービーの内容はこうです。下の歌詞の段落ごとの章立てでストーリーが進みます。

一章：若いMary (マリア) のそばに白い服を着て立っているのは天使です。
これから、まだ男性を知らないマリアが神の聖霊によって妊娠し、神の子を宿すことが告げられているシーンです。
[この天使は同様に、婚約者であるJoseph(ヨセフ) の夢にも現れ、マリアが神によって身籠ったことを告げます］

二章：ベツリヘムに着いたヨセフとマリアを泊めてくれる宿はありません。
案内の子どもが二人を馬小屋へ案内していますね。出産間近のマリアを見るに見かねてのことでした。

三章: 野の羊飼いのところへも天使が現れて、馬小屋で神の子が生まれると告げます。天使に言われた場所へ神の子を礼拝にやってきます。

四章: 東の国からの博士達が、大きく光り輝く星を頼りに長い長い距離をラクダに乗って旅してきます。とうとうBaby Jesus (赤ん坊のイエスさま) を見つけ、救い主としてひれ伏します。
乳香(フランキンセンス)と黄金と没薬 (ミルラ)をうやうやしく献上します。

五章: 大人になったJesus (イエスキリスト) の処刑場面から始まります。一度は、彼を救世主と讃えた人々から「十字架につけよ」と言われます。
歌詞はこのように歌います。
～私はあなたが私を救うために来られたことを知っている。
この男の子の赤ん坊が成長し、あなたと私のために命を捨てることを。
私の罪が釘としてあなたに撃ち込まれるのだ。
あの十字架は私の十字架でもあった。
あなたの息づかいのすべてが父なる神を褒め讃えるものだった～

Jesusが亡くなった後に悲しみに包まれている女性はマグダラのマリアです。失意の彼女の前に現れる人こそ、蘇りのJesusそのものです。


5分20秒の曲ですが、ムービーを見終わった時、クリスマスがなぜ世界中でこれほどまでに大切な日となったか、以前よりも感じ取っていただけるのじゃないかと思うのです。
