世界平和統一家庭連合（以下、家庭連合）は、今回の事件による社会的衝撃と国民的な懸念を極めて深刻に認識しております。国民の皆様に多大なご心配と失望をおかけしたことに、深くお詫び申し上げます。併せて、教団を信頼し共に歩んでこられた信徒の皆様に、深い衝撃と心痛をおかけした点について、心より申し訳なく思います。
家庭連合は、今回の出来事を契機に、教団運営全般に対する非常刷新体制をさらに確立し、意思決定構造、財政執行過程、内部牽制・監督体制、対外活動に関する法令遵守の点検および記録管理体制を全面的に刷新してまいります。
家庭連合は、大韓民国の法治主義を信頼し、司法手続きを尊重します。しかし、本日の第一審判決において、韓鶴子総裁が当該行為を指示した、あるいは違法な目的を認識して承認したという判断については、到底納得することはできません。家庭連合は、判決文を綿密に検討した上で、遅滞なく控訴し、上級審の厳正な裁判過程を通じて、事実関係と法理的判断の誤りを是正してまいります。
弁護団は、裁判の過程において韓総裁が当該行為を直接企画・指示した、あるいは違法な目的を知り承認したという公訴事実を裏付ける直接的・客観的な証拠が提示されていないという点を、一貫して釈明してきました。特に、核心となる供述の信憑性の問題、客観的証拠との矛盾、公式な意思決定手続きの欠如、無理な共同正犯の法理の適用は、控訴審において必ず再判断されるべき核心的な争点です。
家庭連合は今回の試練を、骨身を削るような刷新の契機といたします。政治的中立と財政の透明性、外部監査および遵法監視体制を強化し、国民の目線に立った、責任ある信仰共同体として再び立ち上がります。併せて、残りの司法手続きに最後まで誠実に臨み、上級審において実体的な真実が明らかにされるよう、あらゆる努力を尽くしてまいります。

Statement from the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification
Today, the court of first instance sentenced President Hak Ja Han to two years in prison.
The Family Federation for World Peace and Unification takes the social shock and public concern caused by this incident very seriously. We deeply apologize for causing great concern and disappointment to the public.
Furthermore, we are truly sorry for causing profound shock and heartbreak to the believers who have trusted and stood by our denomination.
Taking this incident as an opportunity, the Family Federation will further establish an emergency reform system for the overall operation of the denomination.
We will comprehensively overhaul our decision-making structure, financial execution process, internal check and supervision system, as well as the compliance review and record management systems for our external activities.
The Family Federation trusts the rule of law in the Republic of Korea and respects the judicial process. However, we absolutely cannot accept the judgment in today's first-instance ruling that President Hak Ja Han directed the acts in question or approved them with the knowledge of an illegal purpose.
After a meticulous review of the written verdict, the Family Federation will appeal without delay to correct the errors in the facts and legal judgments through the strict trial process of the higher court.
Throughout the trial process, the defense team has consistently clarified that no direct or objective evidence was presented to support the prosecution's claim that President Han directly planned and directed the acts, or approved them knowing their illegal purpose.
In particular, the credibility issues of key testimonies, contradictions with objective evidence, the absence of official decision-making procedures, and the unreasonable application of the legal principle of co-principals are core issues that must be re-evaluated in the appellate court.
The Family Federation will use this ordeal as a catalyst for painstaking reform. By strengthening our political neutrality, financial transparency, external audits, and compliance monitoring systems, we will rise again as a responsible faith community that meets the public's expectations.
Furthermore, we will faithfully participate in the remaining judicial procedures to the end and make every effort to ensure that the substantive truth is clearly revealed in the higher court.
