terrible animation when it is already suffering from the same generic long drawn volleyball battles like omg that guy is the king at defense, OMG that guy is the king of offense. This season does nothing better and everything worse. 0 hype 0 impact on blocking, spiking, etc only good part was kaguyama getting the "crown" after wanting others to do better since he experienced it at training camp. Daichi turned worse person on the team for likability. Best season is season 1 because it shows why they want to play and what it means to them with good emotional moments, you can check my ...

10/10 it is a show you can show to anyone no matter race, gender, age. It is something that has deep meaning, good story telling and entertaining enough to keep you hooked with a massive payoff. So much happens in the first few episodes you can't believe how far you have gotten in the story as you finish the season. Highly recommend easily one of my top 3 animes I have seen (both season 1 and 2) Let me know what you think after watching this series. My parents aren't big into anime but I had both of them watch it each giving it a ...

If you don't like slice of life, then this show is not for you. It's not that this show has no plot/light plot, it's that it is a slice of life which in and of itself, is not supposed to have heavy drama or romance. It is supposed to excel and doing not much/chilling with you. It's supposed to have comedy and make you fall in love with the characters, so that you would enjoy seeing them do mundane things. I am an avid slice of life watcher and this did such a good job of showing us a slice of their lives in a ...

I remember reading this a long time ago. I remember enjoying the chill, gathering overpowered isekai protag storyline with his buddies. I don't remember them adding all of these trashy fan service moments with Emalia. I literally skip past all her scenes because they're boring with goofy trashy fan service. This wasn't that kind of manga. It was relaxing and fun - looks like the production team didn't have the confidence in their show and had to do the stupid fan service with her gross perverted maid to try any draw viewers.

It is generic because the isekai market is so over-saturated, but I'm pretty sure ...

This is my first review of the series but Ill be commenting on this one. I really really love the dark gritty tone of this series I wish they made more like this. For 2 hour long episode it had some good stuff pact here. Just like the rest of the series this is great. It was uniquely dark, good dialogue and all. This series can be as immersive as reading percy jackson series back in the day. I loved fate/zero and this series is exactly like that but even darker. I dont know why my post is not posting so I am adding random ...

I'm in love with this anime, the animation, the character interactions, and just how much respect this series has for the fighting scene. If you like cute girls, esports, and watching fighting game videos, I have no doubt in my mind you'll love this anime.
1. This shows tone, is light hearted, as it's really about a group of strangers coming together and forming a deep bond over common interest.
2. It also sends a very heartwarming message about how you always shine the brightest when doing something that you love with full steam ahead. As demonstrated, by Mio herself.
3. The use of hardcore music paired with ...

I honestly had high hopes for this anime because the premise sounded really fun, and Melody seemed like a character I would enjoy watching. Unfortunately, as the story went on, I started to feel that the spotlight was moving away from her too often.

Melody is supposed to be the main character, but there were quite a few moments where I felt more invested in other characters than in her. I don't mind side characters getting development, but in this case it sometimes felt like Melody was only allowed to shine when she was doing her maid duties.

The concept itself is pretty cute and there are ...

We all have a Shounen Bat inside us.
But honestly, I kinda want Shounen Bat to beat the fuck out of me and give me some relief from this world. Well... Paranoia Agent is a deeply quirky and fascinating series. I loved how it seamlessly blends psychological drama, dark comedy, satire, and surrealism with this bizarre, carnival-like atmosphere, constantly tackling the same themes from different angles. Some parts were genuinely mind-blowing, straight-up frying my brain in the best way possible.
Episodes 3 and 8 were easily the highlights for me (both 10/10). They were shockingly bizarre and hilariously absurd, yet still fit perfectly into the overarching narrative. ...

Country Gals Just Hit Different

Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable is a show about a sugar sweet gals, who make delicious sugar sweetie chocolate, who also found this normal city boy, and turned him into a nice guy.

If you're in for a low conflict, almost diabetes level sweet haram show, then this is for you. Character design is bouncy and sexy, each girl has a nice personality, so one is gonna hit for you.

But it is overwhelmingly sweet to a level, where it's hard to watch, and my mind just begins to wander to more interesting shows. The main character is the biggest sinder, he's ...

Land of the Lustrous was recommended to me because it is one of the animes that someone I cared about a lot and if you ask me, I have watch their entire favorite films list, played the games that they like and well? I’m starting with the anime they love as well and this is one of them and I love it, I love how expressive the gems are, how beautiful the anime is and the colors and the way the lore of the world genuinely had me immersed into the anime and overall I love it. Just finished this movie. It was better than I thought it would be! The main character Makoto is brash and immature, but she's a high school student that's written like a high school student. She's a little bit frustrating as a character due to her immaturity and slight selfishness, but still very likeable and endearing. When someone like Makoto suddenly gains the power to go back in time, of course she uses it for silly and selfish things. Like many other time travel stories, eventually there are consequences for her flippant use of time travel. The time travel power serves the story well and I'm ...

It's ironic that the anime adaptation full of humor and action with a frenetic pace and dynamic animation ended up being more of a slog to watch than the slow, quiet, artsy film adaptation.

Much has been said about the difference in tone to the previous adaptations. Which I'm willing to concede is mostly a matter of personal preference. However, where the source material and, as a result, this more faithful adaptation are simply objectively worse is the writing. The manga, and by extension this anime, are full of many classic hallmarks of sloppy, amateurish storytelling:

The cast is overstuffed with tons of characters who don't do ...

I think that this is a fine adaptation. I don't know if it fully does justice to the source material, but I found it to be very enjoyable. Curiously one of the complaints I've seen is the art style, but I think the art and animation make this more palatable than the manwha. The art of the manwha is pretty rough around the edges in the first volume. It improves very quickly after that and it gets very good, but every time I reread Tower of God looking at the art of the first volume feels a little jarring.

The only real grievance I have is ...

The animation is awful, but I enjoyed the story for awhile.
If you can handle horrible animation for the sake of a good story, give it a try. Maybe it won't annoy you as much as it annoyed me.

The first 5 episodes give each main character a good backstory that makes them interesting and explains why they became firefighters and the key members of a firefighting team of the era.

MAL seems to require really extensive reviews. Maybe there would be more reviews if it didn't take so many steps to write one on the app and they didn't need to be so long.

I don't ...

Its an interesting anime that becomes a bit irritating as it goes on.
For two reasons. Firstly the constant yelling.
Secondly the over reliance of goofy chibi animation for comedy.
Ive never been a fan of when an anime switches to chibi to be funny. It just comes off as lazy.
And yelling is also not funny.

Its the story of a human trying to save vampires from a curse that make them go on a rampage.
But he goes out of his way to make himself annoying to everyone he comes across.
He even constantly sexually harasses a female vampire. And this is played for comedy.

The MC becomes less ...

I don't think I'm saying anything that hasn't been said already, but this anime is just one big yapfest. The characters talk, and talk, and talk, and it never ends. And for all of the words spoken not much of anything is really said in essence. The premise seemed interesting to me in the beginning, and once I was halfway through I felt compelled to watch it all the way to the end to see if it ever got anywhere. But in the end, nothing happens. It's just boring characters spewing bullshit for hours on end (literally). This feels like one of those shows where ...

Around 6 years ago, Darling in the FranXX was the first anime series I ever watched, and unexpectedly, it became the best series I had ever seen at that point (It still is).

The story takes place in a future where humanity lives in a world where children are trained to pilot giant robots called FranXX and fight mysterious creatures known as Klaxosaurs. The MC, Hiro, is a boy who has lost his ability to pilot a FranXX and feels like he has no real purpose anymore. Things change when he meets Zero Two, a mysterious girl with a dangerous reputation, and ends up becoming ...

A solid *Ghost in the Shell* entry, but a poor starting point for the franchise.

If you’re a manga fan, you’re going to love this remake. If you’re a fan of the '95 movie, you’ll like it, but perhaps not quite as much. This remake demands prior knowledge of the franchise before you even hit play on the first episode. It kicks off right in the middle of a case without pausing to explain anything about the characters, the world, or the society. In many ways, the anime feels like playing a "Soulslike" game: you progress, but you only piece together the main story through small ...

Incredibly solid show of its kind, WONDERFUL artstyle that is just so sparkly and vibrant, writing this review especially to note how pretty the dresses, the designs of all the characters are. Obviously anime-fied but very detailed dress that gets much closer to historical accuracy than many other shows. Love the corkscrew curls!!! At the start the comedy and story really pulled me in, in the end it let some of that momentum go.. but it was a very wonderful watch. I apprechiated that it didnt leave any ends untied.

The first anime of the summer season has concluded.
It was an enjoyable and lighthearted series that I really liked watching.

Firstly, the story: You might feel the premise is repetitive because we’ve seen it before in Spy x Family; however, the storytelling here was different and entertaining.
While it didn't add much to the established trope, the narrative was solid and cohesive, delivering just the right balance of humor and drama.

Secondly, the dialogue, characters, and events: What truly sets this anime apart is the characters and the interactions between them. The character development was amazing; it unfolded well over the nine episodes—neither rushed nor sluggish, but perfectly ...

My Unique Skill Makes Me OP Even at Level 1 – Anime Review

My Unique Skill Makes Me OP Even at Level 1 (Level 1 dakedo Unique Skill de Saikyō desu) is an isekai anime built around a simple but unusual idea: what if the protagonist could never level up, but possessed an incredibly powerful ability to obtain rare drops?

The anime follows Ryota Sato, who finds himself transported to a strange RPG-like world where dungeons and monsters play an enormous role in everyday life. Although Ryota is permanently stuck at Level 1, his unique Drop Skill allows him to obtain extremely valuable items and eventually become ...

This anime has Melody Wave as a protagonist, and as you can guess, she is a maid. So for many people coming in, they would expect the series to focus on that. Well, that is really not the case as much as the series is about. It turns out this world is an isekai where not just Melody but two other characters are reincarnated.

To be put it quite simpley this is a shameless anime made to promote the source material. Around episode 3 is the actual hook that I find quite good which I stated earlier. The issue is after this episode the pacing of ...

To Your Eternity Season 1 is one of the most frustrating anime I've watched because it shows flashes of absolute greatness but never consistently maintains that level.

The first half of the season was incredible. The opening episode immediately hooked me, and the March and Gugu arcs delivered some of the most emotional moments I've seen in anime. Watching Fushi learn what it means to be human through the people he meets was powerful, and several scenes genuinely hit hard. During these episodes, I thought I was watching a future masterpiece.
Unfortunately, the second half didn't live up to the same standard. The story shifted more toward ...

Well, that was a major disappointment. I guess it goes to show how important creativity is - simply copying an existing work nearly 1:1 doesn't make for a good adaptation. Which, in the light of the Puppet Master's lecture on change, is really quite ironic. I've already read the manga multiple times, so what - pretty colours aside - does this series have to offer that I didn't already get years ago in paperback?

Even worse than that: not only does the slavishly copied minutiae not add anything, it actively takes away at times. Reading a manga is a very different experience than watching an ...

Warning, this review might be long!

Ichijouma Mankitsu Gurashi, from Manga Time Kirara, is a cute girls doing cute things anime that I didn't expect to love. It started weird at first and I was expecting this anime to be a big borefest, but then it warmed me up as it went on. Yes, I know that it's not the best CGDCT out there, but I enjoyed watching this anime for a lot of reasons.

I finally got around to watching Akira after hearing so much hype about this movie. Going into it, pretty much the only thing I knew was that the animation was supposed to be top class. I didn't really know anything about the story. I'd seen some clips of it on YouTube where people deliberately show you these cool 10 or 20 second sequences, usually the characters riding their bikes through the city. Just so you know, that only makes up maybe 10 minutes of this two hour movie, and I'm being generous.

The first part of the movie is actually really, really good. It gives you ...

This movie is my personal favorite out of the 4 movies. In the prior ones, Makoto was unlikable and one note and often a hindrance to the plot- but in this movie he proved himself beyond belief and seeing him excel surprised me in ways I'd never expected.

I played the games before this and something this movie series has done was flesh out the world beyond the game which I appreciate. This movie's message exemplifies everything I enjoyed about these films and It's a shame it's all over. I recommend every movie in this series but this is by FAR my favorite.

Prism Love is the embodiment of wasted potential. It’s a romance anime that leaves you honestly rooting against the female lead because he’s precious and she is ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. She quite frankly is verbally abusive to him when all he does is try to do right by her and the worst part is she doesn’t learn and continues to repeat the same mistakes (she says she knows were wrong) in some pitiful attempt to draw out the plot. The story would have been great if they had one miscommunication only and cut out all the extra time skips. You can express the importance and value ...

My Dress-Up Darling was a comforting watch to say the least. The story was very gentle with no major turning points and the relationship that develops between Gojo and Marin is especially wholesome although it doesn't r.

What I particularly enjoyed about the show was its subplot on freedom of character and identity. These themes made the anime all the more relatable and also enriched the development of the romantic relationship between the main characters. Learning to be yourself and not allow other's judgment to discourage you from your dream, it added a nice touch to the show.

The only downside in my opinion was the ...

One of the best new isekai anime series this season. It is a maid power fantasy and I loved every single minute of it. it is not a perfect show, but what it brings is nonetheless quite enjoyable.

Animation and music - industry standard. Animation is good and fluent, but you can tell that they have saved frames here and there. Music is also standard one with the exception of OP song which is rap instead of standard song.

Overall: animation and music are solid enough to be enjoyable. Nothing bad but nothing good as well.

Very nice! From the first episode I was captivated and looked forward to my morning commute so I can watch another episode. I also watched a few episodes while sitting under a tree in a park and eating lángos with garlic, cheese, sour cream and onion. It was very tasty and the weather was great.

This show is about an unlikely romance between an unremarkable autistic boy and a teenage model. It was made for teenage boys who cant get laid and have no social connections, or teenage boys who grew up into grown ass men who still can't get laid, have no social connections, ...

I find it hard to be harsh on older anime because they are products of their time and I enjoyed this. It’s also one of my most rewatched shows. Turns out one season was pretty much the sweet spot for Aharen-san and Raido-kun.

Some episodes (especially the more openly absurd and irreverent ones) fare significantly better than others, but taken as a whole, season 2 becomes just a bit of a slog as it carries on.

The comedy becomes stale. The romance becomes predictably dull and saccharine. The characters become increasingly grating.

The conclusion aims to wrap the story up in a neat little bow, but it feels very rushed. Getting to it also requires the inclusion of a lot of the more serious moments of the story, which is where the writing is at it's ...

"Dear Japan, why do you keep accepting and selling Isekai slop to your own netizens? It's not as if people wanted this in the first place, but it feels almost as offensive that resources are put to drain out people's motivations for interpreting someone's amateur writing and then being passed around enough to make SOMETHING out of it."

All Works Maid is a gem, it takes the increasingly common genres of Saintess and Otome Game, smashes them together and then takes things in directions that you would not expect.
We've already seen landmarks in the Otome Game subgenre that have looked to redefine it, and All Works Maid will likely leave its mark as well. It is easy for a series to simply follow the herd, it's why we get so many trash isekai, yet to stand out and do something different, that is more difficult and we don't see it often because it can go badly wrong, after all tropes exist because they ...

All Works Maid – A straight man (or girl in this case) as a reincarnator with love for maids...but doing all the stereotypical hero/heroine tasks in the most bizarrely complex of ways???

It's safe to say that the fantasy genre can be anything you want, even if you have to rack up the disbelief that the Isekai subplot will always or undoubtedly find itself meshed together with the story, in more ways than one, up to the imagination. Well...the adverse effect can sometimes be true, that the premises seem simple on the surface, but dig deeper into its iceberg, and you'll find quite the complex case ...

Campus Investigator Hikaruon or 学園特捜ヒカルオン, as it's known in the native language of Japanese. Is a fun romp through Super Sentai in anime form. Hikaru, the eponymous protagonist of the OVA, is a superhero who was posing as a student, investigating why people were killing themselves in a city overrun by demons. Since this is an anime OVA from the 1980s, the story and content might be a little jarring to newer anime fans. Given the amount of fanservice and suggestive material that gets thrown in there. Still, the main plot, animation, and fight scenes are all worth checking out if you're a fan of ...

Preliminary (3/12 eps)
I read about 50 chapters of the manga of this first, so I'm reasonably well-informed on the direction of the series. As an anime adaptation, this is fine, if above average. The problem is that the material they're adapting is just so depressingly mediocre.

There's no hiding from the fact that the quality of modern romance anime, even compared to the 2010s, has fallen off a cliff. The genre has become too codified- too formulaic. They all provide the exact same experience, despite minor differences in execution. This, for example, features two leads that are supposedly older. You wouldn't be able to tell. The only ...

This is gonna be a weird review. As you may know, this is my first ever experience of the Ghost in the Shell franchise which is quite uncommon. The 1990s and later 2000s original adaptations of Ghost in the Shell are renowned classics in the anime sphere for how new this genre was back then. It rode in that Akira/Neon Genesis wave and it's embarrassing to say that I haven't really gotten to that at all.

What I liked:
- Great opening song. Songs from King Gnu are always perfect for anime openings.
- Fluid animation as expected from Science SARU Studio.
- Funny and adorable Fuchikoma. I love the scene where they're planning a revolution to overthrow humans.
- The Puppet Master seems to understand how the universe works, and yet it wanted to become human.
- I'm glad the philosophical discussion and existential dialogue haven't been watered down despite how cartoonish the art style looks.
- "Life is fruit; everyone is always connected to someone."
- Final episodes are great.

Hori's family, especially her dad... so funny. The relationship progression between Hori and Miyamura is fun, and I really appreciated that there was minimal internal freak out moments (in comparison to other romance anime).

The two mc are the best part of the show, as they should be. The issue is that the side characters are so run of the mill, phoned in, fill in the blank types that I never feel invested in what they have going on.

One of the few romance anime that provides substantial character development for the side characters! I love every couple on the show. In a world filled with high school anime, this is one of the better ones I'd say. They don't overly shove the 'polar opposites' aspect in your face, which was surprising. The differences between the 2 mc are definitely highlighted- but through character development, and not as a gimmick.

Want ecchi? So take it.

Okusama ga Seitokaichou! never tried to hide what its main objective is. From the beginning, it is very clear that the focus here is ecchi, and this OVA follows exactly the same proposal. If you went in expecting deep character development, a complex story, or some extremely elaborate romance, you're probably looking in the wrong place. A really good comedy-ecchi series.

Renai Boukun hits you right out of the gate with references, clearly drawing inspiration from Death Note, except here, we have the famous "Kiss Note." The twist is that instead of simply killing the person whose name is written in the notebook, the person listed must kiss someone within 24 hours or else they die. Just from the premise alone, you can tell this anime has absolutely no intention of being taken seriously. And honestly, I think that’s exactly what makes it so great.
