Daniel Olvera Zellhuber (Città del Messico, 7 luglio 1999) è un artista marziale misto messicano. Combatte nella categoria dei pesi leggeri per la promozione statunitense UFC.

[modifica | modifica wikitesto]Zellhuber ha iniziato la sua carriera il 24 settembre 2016, nell'evento JFL 13 della promotion messicana Jasaji Fighting League, con una vittoria per KO tecnico. Ha poi inanellato una striscia di undici incontri imbattibili, di cui due nella LUX Fight League. Il primo impegno di Zellhuber fuori dal suo Paese d'origine fu la ricerca di un contratto con la UFC, partecipando alla Dana White's Contender Series, dove affrontò Lucas Almeida.[1] Vinse l'incontro per decisione unanime.[2]
Ultimate Fighting Championship
[modifica | modifica wikitesto]Il 17 settembre 2022, il debutto di Zellhuber iniziò male, venendo sconfitto da Trey Ogden per decisione unanime all'UFC Fight Night 210.[3]
Sette mesi dopo, Zellhuber riuscì a riprendersi dal suo precedente risultato ottenendo una vittoria per decisione unanime su Lando Vannata il 15 aprile all'UFC on ESPN 44.[4]
Zellhuber affrontò Christian Giagos il 16 settembre 2023 all'UFC Fight Night 227,[5] vincendo l'incontro per sottomissione dopo aver sottomesso il suo avversario con una strangolamento anaconda.[6] Questa vittoria gli valse il premio di Performance of the Night.
Più tardi, il 24 febbraio 2024, all'UFC Fight Night 227,[7] Zellhuber ottenne un'altra vittoria per decisione unanime sconfiggendo Francisco Prado in quello che fu il Fight of the Night e uno dei migliori incontri dell'anno.[8][9]
Il prossimo avversario di Zellhuber sarebbe stato Esteban Ribovics, che affrontò a UFC 306 il 14 settembre. In un incontro serrato, Zellhuber fu sconfitto per decisione unanime.[10]
Inizialmente avrebbe dovuto affrontare Elves Brener il 29 marzo 2025, a UFC on ESPN 64, ma entrambi si ritirarono dalla card: Brener per motivi sconosciuti e Zellhuber stesso a causa di un infortunio.[11]
Zellhuber affrontò Michael Johnson il 19 luglio 2025, a UFC 318, e perse l'incontro per decisione unanime.[12]
