"Creators have choices about where and how they bring their ideas to life," said Xbox CEO Asha Sharma. "We’re honored that Kojima-san has chosen Xbox to work with Kojima Productions on Physint. His ambition to challenge conventions reflects the kind of creativity we want to support at Xbox."

Hideo Kojima added, "This expands our relationship with Xbox beyond OD. As we move forward with the development of Physint, we remain committed to redefining the action-espionage genre for players around the world."

Xbox and Kojima Productions have announced a relationship that will go beyond games and include film and television.

PlayStation in a post on social media has confirmed they will be stepping away from publishing Physint.

"An update from PlayStation Studios: After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to step away from collaborating with Kojima Productions on its project Physint. We continue to have great admiration for Hideo Kojima's vision for the game.

"Our relationship remains strong after three decades of industry-leading, genre-defining creative cooperation, and we look forward to continued close collaboration with Hideo Kojima and his award-winning independent studio in the future."

Kojima in his own statement explained PlayStation would be cancelling Physint and after searching for three months has partnered with Xbox.

"As confirmed earlier through our official channels, in mid-June of this year, we unexpectedly received notice from PlayStation Studios that they would cancel the Physint project," said Kojima. "Physint is an important project both to me personally and to Kojima Productions.

"Determined to keep the project alive, we have spent the last three months searching tirelessly for a new partner. In the course of seeking advice and pursuing negotiations with people across many fields, we found in Xbox a partner with whom we share a common vision for the future, and we have decided to team up with them once again. Please rest assured that development of Physint, our genre-defining action-espionage title, is ongoing and will continue moving forward."

Power On, Your Way

Players have always made XBOX their own, now they have even more ways to personalize the experience. Earlier this year, XBOX Insiders got a first look at the new startup animation that welcomes players when they power on their console. Starting today, players can choose which startup animation they see, with options spanning from XBOX One through the latest generation. Whether revisiting a favorite era or celebrating their XBOX journey, players can select the experience that feels right for them. This new setting can be found under Settings > System > Startup, where players can also still choose whether the animation plays with sound or not.

Customize Your Showcase

Personalization doesn’t stop at startup. Last month, we gave players more insight into badges they’ve earned. Starting today, XBOX Insiders have more control over how those badges are showcased, with the ability to feature up to five badges in their profile card showcase and hide individual badges from their public profile.

More Ways to Find Your Stuff

Getting back to the games and achievements that matter most should be simple. Starting today, XBOX Insiders can use a new local search feature to quickly find specific games and achievements within large lists.

Available in My games & apps, official club achievement lists, and profile achievement history, local search works alongside existing filters and sorting options to help players find what they’re looking for faster.

Improved Remote Play Experience

Game from more places with even better streaming quality. With XBOX Remote Play, players can stream from their XBOX consoles to PCs, phones, TVs, and other devices. Now, XBOX Insiders in Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha on XBOX Series X|S can preview higher-quality XBOX Remote Play streaming, with support for up to 1440p resolution and increased video bitrates for sharper visuals and smoother gameplay on supported devices.

Because Remote Play uses the XBOX console you already own, it’s available as a benefit to all XBOX players with no additional subscription needed. During the testing period, some devices may not yet offer separate streaming settings for XBOX Cloud Gaming and Remote Play. If your streaming quality is set to Auto, Remote Play will automatically select the highest resolution and bitrate your device and network connection can support, regardless of the resolution shown in the setting.

If you’re already using Remote Play, make sure your console’s Display resolution is set to 1440p or 4K UHD in Settings > General > TV & display options to take advantage of these improvements. Otherwise, learn more about Remote Play here.

Continue Downloading While You Play On Cloud

Since June, XBOX Insiders have had the ability to stream a game while it installs or updates. Starting today, downloads can continue in the background while players stream when network conditions allow, helping reduce wait times and keep gameplay uninterrupted. XBOX Series X|S players will see the biggest gains.

Players can find this setting under Settings > Cloud gaming > Streaming preferences and turn it off at any time. As with all Insider features, feedback is welcome.

Speak More Clearly In Chat

Great conversations start with being heard. Starting today, XBOX Insiders on Xbox Series X|S can test Voice Clarity, an enhanced audio experience that helps reduce everyday background noise, making it easier for players to stay connected and communicate clearly with friends and teammates.

Voice Clarity will be enabled by default in party chat and in most games released since 2020. Players can manage this setting at Settings > General > Volume & audio output > Additional options.

Party Improvements (Help Us Test!)

As we continue to improve how players connect with friends, XBOX Insiders can help test updates designed to enhance the reliability and security of parties. Story

Not long after pleasure district apothecary Maomao began work as a maidservant in the rear palace…

Rumors of unexplained happenings spread like wildfire amongst the court: the so-called “Five Mysteries.”

A faceless eunuch, a storehouse that wails every night, garments turning a deep red with no warning… With no rhyme or reason in sight, the rear palace remains unsettled.

When Master Jinshi, overseer of the Rear Palace, entrusts her with investigating these mysteries, Maomao uses her medicinal knowledge, keen observation, and apothecary skills to gather evidence and solve each case.

On a visit home, Maomao befriends traveling actor Guanyu, who gradually begins to pull the apothecary into the very real drama of his life.

Time passes, and the Shi clan’s rebellion is swiftly quelled. The capital city is not yet at peace, however, as similar mysteries begin popping up throughout the castle town, earning the moniker the “Five Curses” from the afflicted citizens.

The town’s justice-driven sheriff, fully devoted to keeping it safe. Quick to act and slow to think, he often charges headfirst into trouble. He rides a steam bike around town and likes to play up a slightly rough-around-the-edges persona.

Falcon (voiced by Akio Otsuka)

An eagle named Falcon who takes offense at being mistaken for a vulture. He spends his days soaring over Steam Bison, gathering treasures.

Mystella (voiced by Michaela Wako Sato)

A cheerful, fashion-forward girl who runs the town’s fortune-telling house. She keeps track of the puzzles that Layton and his companions have yet to solve. Never seen without her crystal ball, the true extent of her fortune-telling abilities remains a mystery.

Eight years have passed since Andross was finally overthrown by the daring Star Fox team. Following the celebrations, Fox McCloud and friends returned to the only life they knew - an endless patrol of the Lylat system, guarding against ongoing threats to their territory.

Boredom soon struck, causing Fox's close friend Falco Lombardi to simply disappear, leaving only rumour to suggest that his lone-wolf nature had finally led him to pursue a more free and profitable life.

Become director of a space station, join a galactic alliance, construct a space base, and discover deep-space marvels in No Man’s Sky Cosmos. Navigate space with a new star system map, strip colossal hulks for parts before hull integrity fails, recover and haul physical salvage to remote space outposts, celebrate 10 years of No Man’s Sky in the Our Journey Continues expedition, and much, much more.

• Direct a Space Station – Prove yourself to the local authorities to become director of a Space Station. Style your station’s central lobby, expand it with ancillary rooms, and decorate its exterior to welcome—or deter—visiting Travellers.
• Alliances – Join a galactic alliance to make friends, co-ordinate exploration, and compete for the most expansive territory in the galaxy. As a station director, you can found your own alliance, and design a name and banner to propagate across the universe.
• Deep-Space Outposts – Alien lifeforms have established deep-space outposts in inhabited systems. Visit these remote buildings to process rare minerals, trade with the quartermaster, and sign up for deep-space contracts.

• Reach The Sun – Stars in each system are now reachable via long-haul flight. These burning spheres of plasma are bright, spectacular, but ultimately lethal. Reach the sun at your own risk.
• Hundreds of Decorative Station Parts – Unlock monumental decoration modules at the Space Anomaly to shape and personalize the exterior of space stations under your directorship. Rare pieces may also be bestowed to Travellers who discover anomalies deep in space.

• Orbital Platforms – Establish a home in the stars on natural rock platforms in deep space. Nestle your base constructions in these stunning terrain formations for beautiful, interesting backdrops.
• Outpost Missions – Space outposts face hardship and adversity, and offer generous recompense to Travellers willing to assist their survival. Sign up for salvage and material recovery contracts at the salvage and delivery terminal to earn standing and rewards.
• Extra-Vehicular Activity – All pilots, not just those in command of a corvette-class starship, may now leave the safety of their ship and explore deep-space. Use the Quick Menu to leave your ship at any point while in space. Spacewalking has been greatly enhanced, giving advanced jetpack operatives true six degrees of freedom while in space.
• Tractor Beam – Upgrade your Corvette-class ship with a versatile new upgrade: the Tractor Beam. This new hull attachment sucks in and refines the physical salvage and minerals extracted from deep-space points of interest. Launch salvage at the beam with the Gravitino Coil for storage in the Corvette hold. Excessively large objects will be processed for ease of storage.
• Ice Fields – Space is garnished with glittering ice fields, yielding valuable resources. Harvest stellar ice, and encounter the wandering miners, traders and pirates drawn to these locations.
• Biohazard Cleanup Operations – Brave some biological horror among the ruins of Infested Outposts. Skill with a Gravitino Coil is needed to clear a way through viral mass that envelops these outposts. Rare and valuable samples are there for the taking, for Travellers with a steady hand and strong stomach.
• Jettison Corvette Cargo – Corvette tractor beams come equipped with automated venting systems, capable of quickly gathering and ejecting all collected cargo in a matter of seconds. Note: automated venting systems are not recommended for use on sentient objects.
• Expand Your Station – Station directors can add additional rooms to their space station with a dedicated construction area. Create entirely custom layouts using room-sized pieces, and furnish them with the full range of decorative parts.
• Enhanced Particle Lighting – Particles and other transparent objects are now part of the lighting system, picking up color and light from dynamic lighting objects (such as the Multi-Tool’s torch), greatly increasing visual fidelity and atmospherics.
• Hulk Shipbreaking – Every part stripped from the creaking remains of a space hulk is a valuable piece of industrial salvage. Salvage operatives should take care to preserve the integrity of their finds, and to avoid triggering a chain reaction…

Deep-Space Mapping

• A map for the local star system is now accessible from the Quick Menu, displaying local celestial bodies, the space station, and other deep-space points of interest.
• Added an array of new deep-space points of interest, including rocky and icy asteroid belts, inhabited and infested deep-space outposts, procedurally-generated variations of deep-space hulks, debris fields, and asteroid platforms.
• Implemented a point of interest at the star(s) of a system, which hubristic Travellers may fly to if they choose…
• Many deep-space points of interest can be stripped and mined for valuable resources, including comet dust, gelatinous fibers, and contaminated metal. Process raw materials at a deep-space outpost to convert them into lucrative items to sell on the Galactic Trade Network, or utilize in space station construction.
• Points of interest will begin to appear on the star system map once a save has reached the Space Anomaly for the first time.

• The Tractor Beam can be purchased alongside other Corvette parts at the Corvette Workshop in space stations.
• Improved control handling, animations, and crosshairs for the Gravitino Coil.
• The Gravitino Coil may now be equipped in Space Stations.

Space Station Directorship

• Prove yourself to the local authorities to become director of a Space Station, gaining rights to shape its external decorations, interior layout and ancillary compartments.
• Earn colossal exterior decoration modules and place them around the outside of your station.
• Directors can remove and adjust existing station decoration.
• In addition, the full range of existing base parts are available to reshape and redecorate the interior of the station.
• Directors can expand their space station by adding additional rooms to the main hangar, which they are then free to decorate as they please.

Galactic Alliances

• Station directors may found their own alliance and seek like minded travellers to join their collective.
• Join an alliance by visiting any of their owned space stations.
• Quickly access your alliance’s systems via the teleporter.
• Players may join up to three alliances.
• Alliances are graded by the activity of their members. The largest and most active alliances are visible on a leaderboard at the space station core.

Orbital Constructions

• Construct orbital bases anywhere in space—utilizing natural asteroid platforms as a starting point, or staking your claim on any empty volume of space.
• Added a number of new corridor base parts, buildable in orbital constructions.
• A huge number of new station decoration parts have been added, unlockable from the Construction Research Terminal aboard the Space Anomaly.

Spacewalking

• Added an eject button for non-Corvette starships, accessible from the Quick Menu.
• Deepened and expanded spacewalking, adding true six degrees of freedom movement, including roll.
• Improved the transition when landing on and taking off from objects with gravity in space.
• Explosions in space will now knock the player back.
• Spacewalking drains the cold protection technologies in the exosuit, unless in close proximity to other hazards, such as hot balls of glowing gas.

Our Journey Continues Expedition

• Expedition Twenty-Three, Our Journey Continues, will begin shortly and run for approximately six weeks.
• This special event celebrates 10 years of No Man’s Sky, and journeys through the history of its evolution since launch.

A Nintendo Switch 2 limited edition console, Switch 2 Pro Controller, and a Switch 2 carrying case designed for the The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary will be released on October 29. The Switch 2 Pro Controller with a special display stand will also be available exclusively in Nintendo stores.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: Coming Nov. 5, the classic adventure is reborn on Nintendo Switch 2 with various enhancements. Details shared in the presentation include:

• Improved performance and presentation: Visuals have been completely overhauled down to the textures of each material, actions feel snappier and more satisfying, load times are faster, the game runs much smoother, sounds have been refreshed and the game includes symphonic orchestral music.
• Greater movement and control: Jump and run freely with newly added button commands and enjoy improved camera control with the Right Stick.
• A more immersive Hyrule: Characters that Link meets are fully voiced during expanded cutscenes and have a great deal more to say. Freely move the camera in fully remodeled locations for a more dynamic experience with various new details. The day/night cycle now continues no matter where you are, even in towns.
• Threads of Time: At any point during the adventure, see the progress you’ve made in the story and check your next objective. A large tapestry will also gradually fill in as your journey continues.
• Play ocarina tunes: Hum a song that Link has learned and he’ll play it on his ocarina! The game will also respond to instruments like the new playable and electric ocarinas coming later this year.
