Dog Breeds That Get Along With Other Dogs

Just because a dog is friendly with people, it doesn’t mean that they’re going to be friendly with other dogs. Some pets get along with other dogs well and enjoy playing with them, while others might prefer to be more independent and reserved.

While it’s true that breed type can influence this behavior, allowing a dog to socialize and have positive experiences with other fur babies can help. Also, dogs that grow up around littermates or those that have the chance to regularly play and interact with other pups have a higher chance to develop strong canine social skills.

However, every dog is different, so you must be patient while helping them properly socialize so that they can eventually become more comfortable with other dogs.

Raising a Dog-Friendly Dog

If you want to raise your dog to get along with other pooches, you must give them positive experiences. Introduce them and let them play with calm and friendly dogs, at their own pace. Never force them to interact if you sense that they are feeling nervous, afraid, or overwhelmed.

To make them more comfortable around other dogs, we’d suggest regular walks, supervised playdates, and visits to dog-friendly places. You can also reward them when they behave calmly and give them time and space whenever required.

If you are patient and consistent enough, your fur baby will become confident and will learn to enjoy their time with canine companions.
