Magnetic anomalies suggest that the Cnoc nan Cullean intrusion is not connected to the Ben Loyal syenite at the surface. The Ben Loyal intrusion is subdivided into a laminated marginal syenite and a structureless core syenite. The lamination, ascribed to flow of a crystal mush, is usually concordant with the enclosing Moine and with xenoliths of the latter. Chemically the body is homogeneous but the core syenites are hypersolvus, one-feldspar rocks; the laminated syenites subsolvus, two-feldspar assemblages. This is ascribed to alkali feldspar unmixing facilitated by outward diffusion of water and by disturbance of the advancing crystal mush. The satellite sheets of Ben Stumanadh may have more normative\n            <jats:italic>or<\/jats:italic>\n            than Ben Loyal and alone show\n            <jats:italic>C<\/jats:italic>\n            . Cnoc nan Cullean is a distinct intrusion with more\n            <jats:italic>or<\/jats:italic>\n            and less\n            <jats:italic>Q<\/jats:italic>\n            . Only Ben Loyal shows\n            <jats:italic>ac<\/jats:italic>\n            .
